YONKERS — Racist Dogs? Turns out, this really cute German Shepherd seemed to dislike minorities. A black delivery guy noticed how the dog only barked at those darker than white, and took matters into his own hands earlier this month.

Andrew Owens, 58, slashed the dog in response to his outrageous racist barking. The man went back to work as an oil delivery guy, and the dog is adjusting to the loss of an eye.

But wait…the dog is ACTUALLY RACIST? Here’s what the owner has to say:
“The dog reacts to black people, Hispanics, anyone who is not white,” owner Paul Tocco said. “She always barked at him. He (Owens) was well aware the dog didn’t like him, and he knew to stay away from her.”
woah.

So I chose not to write about this yesterday not out of disinterest but sheer laziness.
The story is, more or less, as follows:
The Orca, Tilikum, DURING A SHOW at Sea World, pushed in his trainer and drowned her. Why, you ask?
THIS IS HOW ORCAS KILL THEIR PREY. They do it to sharks, they do it to OTHER WHALES, why not do it to your loving trainer?
Its in their nature. They are not vegetarians. They are the meanest animals on the planet (next to the other adorable killer, the polar bear). He coulda done it when no one was watching, though…talk about PR nightmare (mommy, whys the water turning red?)

This was not Tilikum’s first attack. Or second. THREE DEATHS! Won’t they just put him down already? [Protecting the animal, her sister: "Dawn loved the whales like her children, she loved all of them. They all had personalities, good days and bad days." ]

Chelsea rabbit rapist convicted of cruelty

Animal lovers be warned - this report is not for the squeamish.

Abel Aguirre, 38, of Chelsea was convicted yesterday of animal cruelty for having sex with his roommate’s rabbit, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office said. He faces up to 2 years in the House of Correction and a $2,500 fine at sentencing today.

Aguirre assaulted the rabbit June 1, 2008, district attorney spokesman Jake Wark said. Aguirre’s roommate told investigators she came home and found blood and clumps of rabbit fur on the bathroom floor and a claw belonging to the bunny. In Aguirre’s room, she found a used condom with rabbit fur on it. The rabbit was injured and bleeding.

“My jaw hit the floor,” one juror said about the disturbing testimony. The rabbit has died, but not of its injuries, Wark said.
